"It’s about misunderstandings between people and places, being disconnected and looking for moments of connection. There are so many moments in life when people don’t say what they mean, when they are just missing each other, waiting to run into each other in a hallway."
Sofia Coppola on Lost in Translation (2003)

Airports ✈️, bridges 🌉, passports 🌍, luggage👜. Someone told me I seem like I’m constantly running away. Every trip is an escape from my life. Nonsense. Every trip IS my life. Of course, packing up and heading out is liberating and has done wonders for me, but it’s not my prison break. But yes, sometimes I absolutely loathe the familiarity of a small town, how I’ve known people for over a decade, how they think they know you because they know how you lost your virginity, to who, your grades in high school, where you work or attend college, your favorite coffee place, the car you drive. When I leave, I get to define myself on my own. I get to share what I want. Being myself was never an issue, but really choosing who I am as a stranger to strangers in a strange place is very refreshing. I like who I am and my roots, but I don’t always want to be on the ground. Plenty of “adults” have told me to be realistic and get my head out of the clouds. But you don’t tell that to a girl who loves a change in scenery. After all, “your altitude is determined by your attitude.” // #sanfrancisco #bucketlist #traveling #traveladdict #exploring #lifelessons #quoteoftheday #instahub #jj_forum #love #goldengatebridge #springbreak (at San Francisco International Airport (SFO))

"Don’t tell me that you love me, because anyone can tell me that. Tell me that I make you tear up with anger and frustration, but at the end of the day you still want to lay down next to me, put your arms around me, and sleep."

"I want you and I don’t want to be a luxury. I want you to need me. I want you to not be able to concentrate because you’re thinking about me. I want you to reach for your phone because you thought of something you have to share with me. I want you to not even be able to breathe at the thought of never seeing me again, because that’s how I feel about you."

April 13: Kendall at the LACOSTE Beautiful Desert Pool Party (HQs)

This is called a nath, a traditional Indian/South Asian piece of jewelry, usually worn during weddings or cultural celebrations that have to do with the South Asian culture.
Regardless of how ‘cute’ or ‘flawless’ Kendall may look here, her wearing the nath is cultural appropriation and it’s not something she really has the right to wear. Her wearing it as a casual daily piece of jewelry is disrespectful to the history and meaning behind the nath and it shouldn’t be something that should be praised or encouraged.

Please stop turning my culture (and anyone’s and their people’s culture) into a fashion statement. You undermine it and disrespect it with your ignorance and casualness of wearing it. Bindis at Coachella and naths at Lacoste…they’re not the right occasions for it even. Just fucking stop.
